Look, you just removed an entire organ system under the bladder and intestines and kidneys. That's a common surgery, it's not an easy surgery. Anxiety about it is entirely appropriate.
Congrats! You are normal! Sounds better than most first spays. This is a difficult surgery at best. Once you have done 100, yes 100, it will feel better. Tips-look under the bladder-the uterus will be there, follow it up. Cut long suture tags on all pedicles and hold them with hemostats once completed so you can easily check and not lose. If all is well on all 3, cut the 3 suture tags and close up. Bright lights and practice help initial incisions. If it’s your first-sounds exactly right. Each time you get a better feel. Surgery is taught as a science but learning it is an art. You got this!
